GREENROOTS is a magazine with a platform celebrating African American triumphs of today and yesterday, which shapes our tomorrow. GREENROOTS editor and staff believes if you  know your history you will desire to achieve greater! Carter G. Woodson, the creator and father of Black History Month, wrote, “We are going back to that beautiful history and it is going to inspire us to greater achievements.”  GREENROOTS magazine will inspire its readers to KNOW Greater BE Greater and ACHIEVE Greater  as you stand on the shoulders of our glorious ancestors. 


GREENROOTS staff are a group of emerging and soaring writers with a scope of perspectives and experiences  to share with you our reader. They are high schoolers,  college students, budding entrepreneurs, a NAACP Next Generation Change Agent Award recipient,  athletes, youth  mentors,  and a motion picture SAG-AFTRA stunt actor. They  include a future Sports Manager, Journalist, and  a  Film & Media expert. The descendants of Tyrone and Bernice Green, this staff of GREENROOTS cousins ages 14 to 26 stand on a  heritage that echoes the strength of  GOD, LOVE, and FAMILY!

-A graduate of Columbia College, Illinois, Crystal has written articles and manuscripts on various topics reaching thousands of readers national and international including South Africa, Alaska, Bahamas, and East London. Crystal is a Faith Writer who has a passion for Black History. This former community editor for the largest Black-owned newspaper chain in the Midwest has received awards and special recognition for her work. Through her Freelance Writing Service- Creative Purposes Group- this writer has partnered with many writers in getting their books written and published as well as freelance writing for the largest independent Christian Media and publishing company which portray positive images of African Americans in the Bible.  Several years ago this former educator developed a one day workshop entitled ROOTS Workshop in which school age children learned Black history through various interactive and creative activities. 

Crystal resides in Arizona.
